This is my first gear review, so the first thing I want to say is this is a totally independent review and I purchased this item with my own money about a year and a half ago.  I feel it is important to be as impartial as possible when I review and recommend a piece of equipment.  So here it goes.

The Custom SLR Glide One Strap System

About a year and a half ago I began looking for a new camera strap that was the sling, cross body, style strap.  I read reviews in all the standard magazines and on all the standard websites and then I stumbled across a YouTube video from the makers of this strap.  I was intrigued and really liked what I saw, so I ordered the strap.  I have been using it extensively over the last year and half while working on a long term documentary and for everyday use when traveling or taking pictures of the kids, etc.  I must say that this is the best camera strap I have used in 20 years as a photographer.  It is incredibly sturdy and well made of high quality materials.  I use a DSLR with battery grip and usually a pretty fast lens.  That makes for a pretty weighty package to carry.  After years of using a standard strap and having a sore neck, this sling style strap is the best think ever.  I really like the split shoulder pad with the no slip backing.  The strap distributes the weight evenly across the shoulder and directs the weight away from the neck.  The no slip backing keeps the strap in place no matter the conditions.

The “C-Loop” is the attachment point for using the tripod socket on the bottom of the camera.  The genius design allows it to swivel as you walk and move around, which prevents it from unscrewing from the camera and eliminating the need to have an extra retention strap like some other brands of straps have.  I have spent full eight hour days wearing the strap with the camera and have never had it work loose.  The “C-Loop” has a small pop up thumb grip so you can attach the strap to the camera without any tools.  It also has a heavy duty rubber gasket that also adds pressure and aids in preventing it from unscrewing.

The strap also has a heavy duty squeeze buckle that allows you to remove the camera from the strap without removing the c-loop.  There are also two swiveling clip style buckles that attach the strap ends to the shoulder pad.  This allows the strap to move with you as you move as well as self adjust to different body types.

I have really like using the strap and will continue to use it and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a sling style camera strap.  Here is a link to their website if you are interested in this strap or any of their other great products.  Custom SLR
