Several weeks ago I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to be one of the staff photographers for the Spartan Race. It was an awesome event to shoot and while it was a long hot day, it was well worth it. I shot over 14,000 images for the day and burned through two batteries in my D7000. I hope to get the opportunity to work with such a great crew again. I was stationed at the Fire Jump for the day, which is the last obstacle before the finish line. We shot medium size jpeg images all day long and most of these are straight out of camera, with only a few having a tweek in levels. I love how the heat from the fire creates a shimmer in the background and distorts the image behind the participants. Here is a small sampling of images from the race.
